  • Can I purchase the signs?
    We are a sign rental service. This is the best option for our customers as it allows us to professionally design, safely install, and remove the sign greetings without requiring you to lift a finger. We like to say, all we want you to do is show up and celebrate!
  • Your pricing page mentions a "core service area." What does this mean?
    Our core service area includes Mountlake Terrace, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Everett, Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, Kenmore, Lake City, Broadview, Bitter Lake, Cedar Park, Northgate, Wedgewood, Greenwood, Phinney Ridge, Green Lake, Ravenna, Laurelhurst, Ballard, Queen Anne, Fremont, Wallingford, University District, Eastlake, Madison Park, Capitol Hill, Central District, and Medina. We can sometimes accommodate installations outside of our core service area for an additional travel time/labor fee (Interbay, Magnolia, West Seattle, Central District, International District, SODO, Beacon Hill, Mt. Baker, Industrial District, South Seattle, Columbia City, Beacon Hill, Rainier Valley, Renton, Newcastle, Mercer Island, etc). If you are unsure if we install in your neighborhood, you can send us a message with your zip code and we are happy to check for you!
  • Do I need to have a lawn?
    Yes, our signs are made to be installed on lawns. We define lawns as unobstructed soil with grass on top. We cannot put signs in rocks, gravel, concrete, bark/mulch, flower beds, thick landscaping, or hard-packed soil that has been used as a driveway.
  • How long is my rental period?
    Many customers choose 24-hour or 48-hour rental periods, but we offer longer term rentals as well, subject to availability. Discounts are available for 5+ day rentals. For holidays and graduation season, longer term rentals may not be available because of high demand.
  • How much is a sign greeting?
    Prices vary depending on desired package, custom features, duration of rental, and install location. Pricing listed on our Packages and Pricing page reflects installations within our core service area. For exact pricing, fill out our booking form and we'll send you a price quote!
  • Can I see a "proof," "mock-up," or photo of what my sign greeting will look like before it's installed?
    The beauty of our sign greetings is that they are custom and unique each and every time! We create a special design based on your asks, the recipient's favorite colors and interests, and inventory available at the time of your install. That being said, we cannot offer exact "proofs," "mock-ups," or photos beforehand, but we have many of examples that can help you visualize what to expect depending on the package you choose.   • How far in advance do I need to book?
    Whoops! Is their birthday tomorrow and you're in a pinch? Reach out! If we have availability, we will do everything in our power to accommodate. Orders with 48 hours or less notice incur a $30 rush fee. Are you a planner and have an event 1, 2 or even 6 months from now? We love that too! Reach out now and get your date confirmed on our calendar. We highly recommend this especially for holidays or graduation season as dates book up quickly during those times.
  • Do I need to be home when the sign is installed?
    No! This is a contactless delivery service. We provide you a 2-hour install window so you'll know when to expect us (and have the opportunity to distract or get your loved one out of the house, if desired). We do not require anyone to greet us or be home for the installation. We set up all of the details with you beforehand (like sign design, where to install, etc). When we arrive, all that's left to do is make our "sign magic" happen! Once installed, we email you a photo of the completed sign greeting.
  • Do I need to live at the residence where I'm requesting the sign to be installed?
    No! Our signs make a fantastic gift. We have many customers from all over the country contact us to deliver a sign greeting to their loved ones who reside in Seattle. It's a great way to show your love from afar. If you do not live at the residence of install, we ask that you let someone at the household know that we will be coming. It can be startling for folks to see unexpected Ring notifications, and we're only in the business of bringing happy surprises! ​You can upgrade any sign greeting package with a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers and a hand-written note!   • It's raining! Will my installation be OK?
    Absolutely! Our signs are high quality waterproof material that can withstand a myriad of weather conditions. Rare events like excessive snow or winds exceeding 25 mph are examples of the few situations could result in a cancellation on our end. In the very unlikely situation that we cannot complete your installation, we would contact you and refund your order.
  • I need to cancel my booking. What can I do?
    Plans change, we get it! Please give us as much notice as possible. Since each installation is custom, we spend time designing the sign layout, pulling each letter and graphic from inventory, staking each piece, and prepping for install. If you need to cancel, please provide 48-hours notice for a full refund. For less than 48-hours notice, you will receive a 50% refund. When you confirm your booking, you are acknowledging that you have checked your lawn. If we have issues installing because of yard conditions (excess debris or stakes are unable to penetrate the ground), we will refund your order less $50 for the effort we invested to design/prepare your greeting and drive to the install location.
  • What policies and rules am I agreeing to when booking?
    Please read all of our policies and rules by clicking the "Policies & Rules" tab at the top of this page, to the right of "Top Questions." Our rental agreement is also attached to your invoice prior to booking. If you need further assistance, please contact us.
  • I want to move or take down the signs myself. Is that OK?
    Please do not move or take down the signs for any reason. They scratch easily and we reserve the right to bill you for any replacements due to damage. If the greeting needs to be moved or taken down before your scheduled removal time, please contact us.
  • I accidentally mistyped the address and the sign was installed at the wrong house!
    If we are provided the incorrect address for delivery, unfortunately refunds will not be provided if the sign has already been installed. Addresses are copied and pasted directly from the booking form, so please double check address prior to our arrival
  • Personal Injuries & Damages
    We encourage you to pose next to the display for photos, but for the safety of everyone, please do not touch, lean on, or play near the display. Our items will not safely support any weight or pressure and they are installed with sturdy, metal stakes. We will not be held liable for injuries or damages that occur. Please do NOT attach anything (balloons, string, decorations, etc.) to any part of the display. Please do NOT mow, edge around or take down the yard sign display for lawn maintenance purposes. If you have a lawn service scheduled during the duration of your display, it is your responsibility to inform them of this policy or simply reschedule landscaping to be done after the sign is removed. If you have any outdoor pets, please keep them away from the signs. We strongly encourage you to keep them fenced in a separate area or indoors for the duration of your rental. All signs are the property of Sign Gypsies Seattle / SG Seattle, you will be held responsible for all damages/replacement charges for signs that are lost, stolen or damaged in any way. Sign Gypsies / SG Seattle and its representatives are not responsible or liable for any injury or damage that may be caused to any person or personal property during the setup or removal of any rental.
  • Photo and Advertising Release
    We will photograph your yard greeting rental for use on our business website, Instagram, and Facebook pages and publicly congratulate the recipient unless you otherwise inform us not to do so. We will place a small sign in your yard with our contact info. This sign is unobtrusive to your custom greeting. Please do not move it.
  • Hold Harmless Agreement
    Customer agrees to protect, defend, indemnify Sign Gypsies / SG Seattle and hold its officers, employees and agents free and harmless from and against any and all losses, penalties, damages, settlements, costs, charges, professional fees, or other expenses or liabilities of every kind and character arising out of or relating to any and all claims, liens, demands, obligations, actions, proceedings or causes of action of every kind and character in connection with or arising directly or indirectly out of the Sign Gypsies / SG Seattle rental agreement and/or the performance thereof. Customer further agrees to investigate, handle, respond to, provide defense for any such claims, etc., at his sole expense and agrees to bear all other costs and expenses related thereto, even if it (claims, etc.) is groundless, false or fraudulent. The agreement is in effect for the duration of the rental process as defined by the effective dates of the rental agreement.
